چکیده
To analyze the effects of intercritical heat treatment on temper embrittlement SA508 Gr.4N steels, two model alloys with different phosphorus (P) contents were fabricated. Each sample was treated by applying a conventional process (quenching-tempering) with/without an (IHT) and step-cooling for embrittlement. Then their microstructure mechanical properties evaluated. The alloy composed tempered lower bainite martensite, nano-sized precipitates formed both inside at boundaries. grain size reduced when IHT applied. There small difference in tensile according to heat-treatment conditions P contents, but Charpy impact large. (TE) increased transition temperature, very significant increase observed steels high content. temperature owing TE fractograph analysis fractured specimens temperatures showed that intergranular fracture main reason TE, formation fracture. AES results P-Ni segregated boundaries, level segregation IHT. This occurred because prior austenite boundaries dispersed amount segregation.

This data analysis was undertaken to investigate the weatherability of steels whose compositions do not fall in the range of ASTM Standard G101, Estimating the Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance of Low-Alloy Steels (1). This standard was developed to estimate the corrosion resistance of low-alloy weathering steels from chemical composition data and from actual atmospheric exposure tests. This sta...
متن کاملDetermining the Hot Deformation Temperature Range of Medium Carbon Ni-Cr-Mo Low Alloy Steels using Hot Tensile and Hot Torsion Tests
The aim of this study was to investigate the suitable temperature range for hot deformation of three medium carbon Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steels by hot tensile and hot torsion tests. Hot tensile tests were carried out in the te,prature range of 850-1150°C at a constant strain rate of 0.1 s-1 until fracture. Then, the tensile flow behavior, hot ductility and microstructural evolution of the steels w...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
On the Step Cooling Treatment for the Assessment of Temper Embrittlement Susceptibility of Heavy Forgings in Superclean Steels
When subjected to extended exposure to intermediate service temperatures, Cr–Mo steels, Ni–Cr steels, and 5% Ni steels can become embrittled, with an associated decrease in fracture toughness and a shift in the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature to higher temperatures. Two methods for the investigation of temper embrittlement phenomena are isothermal aging or the use of a step cooling ag...
